Description
Drought in the southwestern United States is a common reality. The Rio Grande River, which serves as a border between the United States and Mexico, can be a raging river, complete with rapids, a trickling stream or a dry river bed. Nature shows the contrast between life and death with the affect of drought. A start, dead tree reflects its image on a muddy pool of water left by the river when it was last full. It's water and nutrients feed new growth until it once again dries up and everything dies.
